Manor students raise £950 for local charity

Members of the Student Senate at the Manor Academy recently met with Cheryl and Gary Broughton from the Missing Piece Child Loss Charity to hand over a cheque for £950. The Student Senate raised the money during the Summer Fayre in July and they could not be happier to donate to an inspiring local charity that is so close to the Academy’s hearts, following the devastating loss of former student Lewis Crouch.

The Missing Piece are a local charity that provides support to families who are going through the experience of losing a child suddenly. Cheryl and Gary Broughton, set up the charity after losing Lewis and have worked hard to offer support to other families, through counselling courses, a 24/7 text and call support line and more.

We would like to thank Cheryl and Gary for coming in and collecting the donation. We hope that this will help them achieve their goal of providing support to those who are experiencing the pain of losing a child suddenly. The hard work they put in to support families is an inspiration to us all.

Please take a look at the Charity’s website for further details on their story and how to make a donation.
