Selston High School is one of the founding members of The Two Counties Trust and offers secondary education to students aged 11-16. Based on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, the small, mixed school has become an important part of the local community and The Two Counties Trust. Students and staff are happy and motivated, working hard together every day to improve their skills and knowledge. We are proud of the fact that the students at Selston High School work hard, support each other and actively try to do well in all of their subjects.
Good teaching is at the heart of Selston High School’s success (Ofsted ‘Good’ 2014), they strive every day to live up to their school motto; ‘To inspire every member of the school community, to achieve their full potential and enjoy the experience.’ They deliver this promise by holding both the staff and public to a high standard that pushes for a first-class education and develops the whole child. This school aims to develop resilient, hard-working and respectful citizens who feel ready to leave secondary school and become young adults ready for the next step of their education.
As a small school, Selston High take their reputation very seriously and believe there is no better way of spreading the good name of the school than by sending off happy and successful students and maintaining motivated staff who are keen to continuously develop and improve the school further. As examination outcomes over time continue to improve, the school is becoming increasingly popular.
Selston High School will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that their students leave school with the confidence and ambition to take their place in the world as productive citizens.
