Meet the Team
The Two Counties Trust is very lucky to have a growing team working behind the scenes, striving to make the Trust the best we can be. At the Trust, we focus on working with the teachers, the leadership teams and the students, across all our academies, to do the best they can. We are there to aid the teachers and leadership in providing a first-class education for every student at The Two Counties Trust.
Dick Vasey, Chief Executive Officer
Dick transferred to the substantive role of Chief Executive Officer of The Two Counties Trust in September 2017, having combined this post with that of the Head teacher of Ashfield School for 18 months. Before becoming Head teacher at Ashfield School in 2008, Dick was Head teacher at The Long Eaton School during which time Dick led the school to an Ofsted judgement of ‘Outstanding’ and oversaw the construction of a brand new school building procured under PFI. Dick has been a local Leader of Education (LLE) for the past 12 years and as such he has supported a variety of different schools through school-to-school support and through developing leadership capacity at the schools. Dick has been involved in delivering a number of courses across the country covering a variety of leadership and management topics.
Debbie Duggan, Head of Human Resources
Debbie is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has over 30 years’ experience in the field of Human Resources, 19 of which have been in education. Debbie joined The Trust in 2017 to develop the HR Strategy and harmonise employment arrangements. Following the centralisation of a range of services Debbie is the executive team lead for HR and a range of core business functions.
Natalie Palmer, Director of Finance
Natalie is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 14 years’ experience within the Health and Housing Sectors. Her career to date has spanned many senior roles including Head of Strategic Business Development, Director of Property Compliance and Director of Finance Operations. Natalie joined The Two Counties Trust in March 2020 as the executive lead for Finance, Health and Safety, Property and Trading Company activities.
Marie Sly, Director of School Improvement
Marie joined The Trust in 2020 as Director of School Improvement, to support and deliver on the Trust's strategic objectives and improvement strategy. Marie is leading on raising standards of attainment, challenging performance and supporting improvement and school effectiveness. Her aim is to ensure that all students achieve their full potential. Prior to joining the Trust, Marie was employed by a large multi-academy Trust, working alongside education professionals and students, achieving significant success in raising attainment, outcomes and ultimately their life chances.
