Friesland School joined The Two Counties Trust in 2018 and is one of our academies that welcomes both secondary and post-16 students. Based on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, the school has built a strong ethos and everything they do is to support their students and provide them with a first-class education.
At Friesland, every child really does matter; the school provides an extensive curriculum to meet the educational needs of each and every one of their students. The school also offers a broad range of extra-curricular activities that develop their students; the thriving PE and Performing Arts department have a broad range of activities to engage the pupils. These activities teach their students new and exciting skills and allow them to stay active and secure life long bonds.
Friesland School Sixth Form offers a warm, friendly, purposeful environment that has an excellent reputation for the academic and pastoral support and guidance that it offers its students. They offer a broad and balanced curriculum, alongside providing extensive careers and higher education advice. This successful Sixth Form also provides a diverse range of extended educational and social opportunities, including an annual American Exchange, together with residential visits to Namibia, Germany and the Lake District. Theatre trips, sporting fixtures and cultural visits also feature within their exciting Post-16 program.
Friesland School is a place of learning, where the progress of their students is at the forefront of everything they do. The support staff, teachers and leadership team at Friesland School have high expectations of all their students. They believe that if students aim high, work hard and receive outstanding teaching, they should achieve high.
