28 Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) who joined schools within The Two Counties Trust in September 2018 got together at the Trust’s NQT Induction event held at Manor Academy on 13th November.
Dick Vasey, CEO of the Trust welcomed the NQTs and outlined the Trust’s Mission, Values and strategic direction.
Garry Richardson from The Manor Academy led an interesting and interactive session looking at how questioning can be used effectively in the classroom to gauge student progress and to involve students in the lesson.
Becky Green from Swanwick Hall School and Dave Steed from Heritage High School engaged the NQTs in a range of activities to enable them to reflect on their first half term in the teaching profession and how they want to develop and improve their practice as the term progresses.
Trust Chief Executive, Dick Vasey said, the energy levels in the room were very high and engagement by all was superb. NQTs were able to meet colleagues from other schools and share experiences and resources within the same subjects. The session was enjoyed by all and we plan to run another event later in the academic year.
